Art workshop / fundraiser for dyslexic children(2008)
| 2008
Inspired by the film Taare Zameen Par, Aishwarya Mannivannan organized a screening at JBAS College to raise awareness about learning disabilities among her peers. At just 17, this initiative marked her first self-driven effort to use art as a means of promoting reflection and social impact. Recognizing that many future mothers would benefit from understanding learning disabilities, she aimed to share her newfound insights with her fellow students.
The funds raised from the screening enabled her to conduct art workshops for students from the SIET Dyslexic Center, alongside her peers from the Interior Design course. Approximately 80 students with various learning disabilities participated in the workshops, which fostered thought-provoking discussions and inspired meaningful interactions. This experience not only heightened awareness among the college students but also laid the groundwork for numerous future art-based social impact projects.
