Art for COVID relief

| 2020

Under the mentorship of Aishwarya Manivannan, Maisha Studio students organized a painting workshop before the COVID pandemic for underprivileged children, creating canvases that were later sold at an art fundraiser. The funds raised were used to provide essential grocery kits to over 300 families living below the poverty line in Gummidipoondi, a village formed by families displaced from Chennai, many of whom were daily wage laborers.

To provide a sustainable second source of income, a fruit-bearing tree plantation drive has been initiated for the community. The next phase of support focuses on building a playground for the village children and arranging regular transport to help students attend school in the neighboring village.
