The 5th edition of Maisha Studio’s annual student art and design exhibition curated and mentored by Aishwarya Manivannan. Held at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai from June 15th to 20th, this event was one of Tamil Nadu's biggest student showcases. 

“‘Local’ emerges from decades of experiencing a profound connection with the places I visit and live in. through infinite details, both micro and macro, everyday moments, and mundane practices, I find beauty, profundity, and intimacy.” - Aishwarya Manivannan. 

With over 100 artworks by 16 talented young artists from Chennai aged 16 to 23, Local presents a diverse array of artistic expressions from fine art and painting to drawings, installations, sculptures, film, photography, fashion, and product design. The theme ‘Local’ has pushed students to take inspiration from their own environment and culture, rethink what it means to be local in the present day, and embrace the smaller details of our everyday life.
